The apostle Paul said, “Men and brethren I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day,” Acts 23:1.
We welcome you to our study of the book of Acts. We hope you'll get your Bible and stay tuned as we study this wonderful text together.
In this text, Acts chapter 23 through 25, the apostle Paul is now going to be giving a defense of the gospel and of Jesus Christ before the Jews and before the leaders of that day. As he begins this great sermon, this great message in Acts 23, Paul looks intently the Bible says at the Council and he says “Men and brethren I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.” We think about Paul's words here and there is a very valuable point to be learned. It's this: Paul identifies and addresses the fact that conscience is not a safe guide in religion.
